On top of the hill, you will find a beautiful Romanesque church overlooking the valley and the town of Pontassieve. The Parish Church of San Lorenzo a Montefiesole is reached through a street lined with cypress trees. From some of the manuscripts and texts dating from 1190 as the quote as collegiate and parish in 1461.
The church was restored in 1998, has retained its Romanesque structure with three naves and five bays divided by square pillars with only two sloping roofs. Inside there is a painting on wood of the pregnant Virgin Mary "Madonna del Parto" of the late fourteenth century, attributed to Antonio Veneziano.
