The "hybrid turn" represents the future for transportation by sea in Calabria.  “Elettra” an electric boat for passengers that want to sail the Mediterranean. The creators and makers of the 'green hybrid' boat are two young passionate entrepreneurs, Luca and Francesca, founders of the company Galatea Srl.
 
Elettra was built in Calabria, ahead of its time in terms of ecological transition and ensuring quiet and clean sailing. Grey and blue fiberglass hull, independent diesel and electric engine powered by solar energy (with a daily range of 10 hours on a day with favorable weather), with a capacity of 48 passengers and also enabled to transport people with disabilities.
 
An idea that Luca and Francesca insisted on creating to change in depth the way of experiencing tourist excursions by sea. A  partnership has been activated with the Department of Agriculture, Welfare and Social Policies and the Local Development Agency Flag La Perla del Tirreno.
 
"Elettra represents tangible proof," say Luca and Francesca, "of a will for change that starts from the South. Strongly wanted, studied, desired; born as a dream, we created  it as a gift towards a territory that with its potential allowed us to build our future.
We want to  leave the world better than we found it, after all, good intentions must be followed by concrete actions. Elettra is the present, but in constant becoming."
